One of our most favourite places to stay in Venice

We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past and very much enjoy the friendly staff. The location is excellent and off the busy streets so it is a place where we can have rest and quiet.

While the property has always fully met expectations in the past, this time, the boiler was not working for a day and a half, and thus we did not have hot water and heat in the room for a part of our stay

Unique boutique hotel just outside the expensive tourist area

This hotel is beyond gorgeous! From the front desk and hospitality exceeding all expectations to include a water taxi to Murano and a glass blowing tour, to the included breakfast - our entire experience was incredible!

I think it’s an Italy thing….the pillows were so incredibly flat m. Did not hinder our experience in the least

A fabulous hotel making my third visit to Venice special.

The hotel is lovely and the location was great. We were given a warm welcome on our arrival and advised that there was a bottle of prosseco in the fridge. Our room was clean and there was plenty of room. Breakfast was great.

Feel like a Venetian aristocrat

First and foremost, I appreciated the service and especially Darwin as a host. Our original room had some inconveniences, and he offered a different room -- a suite actually -- even before we mentioned anything. The breakfast was quite exceptional with very tasty cakes of all kinds. The beds were comfortable, too. The hotel is in a rather quiet area but still close to the animated parts of the city. Would recommend.

The original room had a water leak and there was quite some noise on the floor above us, which woke us up quite early.

Delightful

The staff were lovely. Very helpful and very friendly. The breakfast was excellent. Wonderful choice of food and beautifully presented. Our room was very comfortable. The property was full of character and the tea in the garden in the afternoon was very relaxing. We really liked the area of Venice as well. A very enjoyable stay.

We liked everything about Abadessa, from the warm welcome to the super staff who were all very attentive and helpful. Our room was small and cramped but they moved us to a bigger room when one came free without us even asking. Breakfast was good and welcome bottle of prosecco very welcome.

Fantastic, romantic, restorative place to stay!

Superb accommodation in the less touristy part of Venice. It's an actual "palazzo" converted to a truly romantic and quiet oasis in a perfect part of town--just the antidote to the bustle of the main squares and grand canal. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable, relatively large and the management kind and supportive. The daily breakfast very good indeed! The manager even arranged a free trip to Murano for us to the glass-blowing factories with a limited amount of time--and that was just wonderful! The location is fantastic, IMO, and great for romance and restoration. If you want to be "on" the Rialto or just outside Piazza San Marco, this is *not* your place :) But Venice is small and very walkable, so you're only a half-hour's walk to those places anyway. The Palazzo is so much quieter, so much closer to where people work and live in Venice, and so beautiful with its gardens, that it is totally worth the splurge. It may not be inexpensive, but it was still great value.

Great stay in Cannareggio

Fabulous to have a Garden in Venice. Thoroughly enjoyed having Breakfast outside.

Room was lovely but not sure that it was the Genius upgrade promised. Small but sufficient for the two of us. Shower temperature sometimes temperamental but not a big issue.

Centrally located haven. A former palace, everything is in walking distance and the garden and spacious public spaces a

Tranquil garden, described as a home within Venice on arrival and it truly is. Attentive staff but not overbearing. A genuine haven a short walk from the Grand Canal and highlights of Venice. Room 11 with the corner view over a small canal was a treat and allowed a window on another world. A piece of heaven.

Lovely!

The staff are lovely and incredibly helpful The hotel is beautiful and charming with a lovely garden (rare in Venice) Breakfast is good Location is amazing I have stayed at this hotel four or five times in the past and will always stay here when in Venice

My only complaint would be that the pillows are uncomfortable, rather thin and hard. I find this surprising since everything else is so good

Lovely friendly hotel in a great neighbourhood

Very friendly staff and lovely hotel. Beds were comfortable and a good selection of things for breakfast. It was great to have a garden to relax in after all the walking around the city.

Coffee making facilities would have been nice in the room.
